Plot Synopsis
Pina Bausch (1940-2009), one of the world's most influential choreographers, passed away in 2009 at the age of 68. Her impact on the contemporary dance scenes is incalculable, and her visionary work as dancer, choreographer and creator of dance theatre helped redefine modern dance for audiences and earned an enthusiastic and growing fan base worldwide. When this film was shown as the Opening Film of Jumping Frames in 2008, it received overwhelming responses from audiences in Hong Kong and Beijing. Isreali director Lee Yanor and Pina first met in Paris in 2002 when he recorded meetings with her in 16mm footage. She then follows her path to Wuppertal, Germany in 2005, recording intimate dialogues with Pina Bausch behind the scenes, sharing very truthful moments in Pina's private universe, intercut with footage of the performances Agua and Rough Cut.
